Casey Goetz “Dr. Casey” never planned on being a pediatric dentist.
In college, he had ambitions of working as a veterinarian or a physician. One day while working his summer college job at a small engine repair shop, a customer invited Casey to come and shadow him at his local pediatric dental practice. Within 10 minutes of watching the dentist work, Casey knew that pediatric dentistry is what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
Dr. Casey earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree as well as his Certificate of Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He spent two years at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the Children’s Hospital of Iowa treating pediatric patients in both a clinical setting, and under general anesthesia. In 2022, he passed his series of written and oral clinical exams through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry to become a board-certified pediatric dentist.
After residency, Dr. Casey associated at a pediatric office for eight months until the COVID pandemic. During the pandemic, he decided to commit to the start-up journey and to open his own practice in rural northeast Missouri. He opened his office in October of 2020, and had phenomenal growth and success in just the first year. His office collected a million dollars in year one, and by year three had surpassed two million with an overhead well below 40%. Dr. Casey's strengths in developing this course include marketing, clinical efficiency, controlling overhead, and understanding the financial and tax implications of being a practice owner.
Dr. Casey is also the host of the largest pediatric dentistry podcast on iTunes and Spotify, “Brews and Tiny Teeth.” He is well-known by most pediatric dentists throughout the country, and the show has given him the opportunity to interview and learn from hundreds of other pediatric dental practice owners who share their expertise. He teamed up with Dr. Corey to create Little Smiles Practice Mastery, and to instill some of the knowledge he has learned with other young ambitious pediatric dentists.
